ARTISTS & CRAFTSMANSHIP
An authentic hand-painted Thangka may take months or even years to complete. The artist follows exacting proportions through canvas preparation, precise drawing, layered mineral and botanical pigments, and finely ground gold details, completing the work with focused discipline. Natural pigments such as turquoise, malachite, cinnabar, and lapis lazuli help the colors retain their depth over time.
SUBJECTS & ICONOGRAPHY
Thangka imagery carries deep cultural meaning and spiritual significance. Our studio works with subjects including Buddhas and bodhisattvas, figures associated with wisdom and compassion, and traditional protectors. Every posture, ritual implement, hand gesture, and color follows an established symbolic language.
